Three young children abandoned in vehicle as felon with loaded gun runs from Police in Uptown Harrisburg
As the vehicle pulled over in the 2600 block of Jefferson Street, Karelle Middleton exited the driver’s seat and began running south.
When the suspect fled he left three small children in the vehicle: a 3-year-old, a 5-year-old, and an 8-year-old. Police found a loaded Smith and Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in his jacket. The firearm had an obliterated serial number.
U.S. Attorney David Freed hinted in his comments Thursday of a larger story behind why the elite federal task force was sent to the home where the shootout ensued. Police have been repeatedly targeted in Harrisburg.
