Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — An online exchange on Memorial Day between Congressman Dan Meuser and Constitutional analyst Marc Scaringi began with criticism of Trump for demanding loyalty from politicians, and a comparison to Hitler. It quickly transpired into a debate about the war in Iran that eventually concluded with Scaringi urging the Congressman to uphold his oath to the U.S. Constitution, and Meuser alleging that Scaringi is apparently on the team of communist countries including Iran, North Korea, Gaza, China, Russia and Cuba. Meuser suggested that Scaringi should focus his criticism on Democrats rather than Trump and Republicans. Scaringi chided the Congressman for making outrageous claims.

Is Trump putting America First, or pursuing the agenda of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu?

On Memorial Day, Marc Scaringi shared a Truth Social post from President Trump about the primary election in Texas between Senator John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. Scaringi captioned the image with criticism of Trump for openly demanding loyalty from politicians. Scaringi said the American people are loyal to the U.S. Constitution, not to the President. He added, “Hitler changed the loyalty oath given by every German soldier from loyalty to the German Constitution to unconditional obedience to the Führer.”

U.S. Congressman Dan Meuser responded to the post with his own comments. “All you seem to do is write about how bad Republicans are,” Meuser rebuked Scaringi for criticizing Trump and Republicans. He suggested that Scaringi instead should focus on the extreme agenda of the Democrats, and he said, “Democrats are more socialist and radical than ever before.” Meuser also disagreed with Scaringi invoking Hitler comparisons, and said, “That’s sick.” He added, “Frankly, there no one who loves America and our constitution more than President Trump.”

Scaringi responded with analysis of Trump’s decision to go to war in Iran. “He violated both the War Powers Resolution and the United States Constitution,” Scaringi replied. Scaringi said the war began at the behest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said Trump has repeatedly lied to the American people about his justification of the war, and added that none of the stated objectives of the war have been achieved. Scaringi mentioned $30 billion of taxpayer funding for the war, as well as U.S. casualties and Iran’s desire to revenge the bombing of innocent children in an elementary school.

Does Congress represent the will of the people, or the demands of President Trump?

Scaringi detailed the intentions of our founding fathers for Congress to hold the power to declare war in the U.S. Constitution. He encouraged Congressman Meuser to fulfill his oath to defend the Constitution by urging his colleagues to pass a War Powers Resolution to end military action in Iran unless Congress authorizes actions or declares war.

In a subsequent follow up post, Scaringi shared an image recently posted by Congressman Meuser of him standing with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi of Iran. Meuser said, “The people of Iran have suffered the tyranny of the Islamic fundamentalist regime for nearly 50 years.”

Scaringi responded, “The Islamic fundamentalist regime in Tehran shouts Death to America is because we installed and supported the murderous, tyrant, the Shah of Iran and helped to remove the at least somewhat democratically elected Prime Minister Mossadegh. Perhaps we should not repeat the same mistake.”

Meuser followed up by saying, “That was more than 47 years ago.” He said since then Iran has been engaged in terror against the United States and its own people. Meuser again defended America. He suggested Scaringi should visit a communist country, “since you are apparently on their team,” he said.

Scaringi said, “No, I am not on team Iran, North Korea, Gaza, etc,” and he said Meuser is not able to have an adult conversation. Scaringi ended the discussion by saying, “Ironically, you accuse me of being on Team Iran while you stand beside and promote an Iranian prince whose father was a murderous tyrant, and our support of whom has been instrumental in causing the Iranians to chant Death to America, which you do not seem to know or understand, and apparently and strangely you think the Ayatollahs have forgotten. Continuing this exchange with you is not worth my time. Good luck to you in all that you do.”
