As reported by Harrisburg Bureau of Police – Harrisburg Police Officers have obtained a warrant for Karelle Middleton for the charge of Possession of Firearm Prohibited.
On Sunday, July 22, 2018, at approximately 6:49 p.m., in the 500 block of Wiconisco Street, Harrisburg Police Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Caravan whose registration was an expired plate. The vehicle immediately pulled over in the 2600 block of Jefferson Street and a black male exited the driver’s seat and began running south. The male, who was identified as Karelle Middleton, threw a multi-colored jacket as he fled from police. Middleton continued to the 600 block of Geary Street, where Officers lost sight of him.
Harrisburg Police Officers recovered the jacket, which had a loaded Smith and Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in it. The firearm had an obliterated serial number.
When Karelle Middleton fled he left three small children in the vehicle: a 3-year-old, a 5-year-old, and an 8-year-old. None of the children were properly restrained in car seats or with seatbelts. Middleton is also being charged with Driving while Operating Privilege Suspended/Revoked, Endangering Welfare of Children, Possession of Firearm w/Altered Serial Number, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Carry Firearm W/O a License, Restraint Systems, Suspension Registration.
