$775 per child per day to house unaccompanied migrant children being sent to Pennsylvania
Because the temporary shelter in Pennsylvania had to be modified and equipped, the cost per child is estimated at $775 per day, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The new shelter has capacity to house 250 children, of which 150 beds were filled last night. At full capacity the facility will cost nearly $6 million per month to operate.
