PA Lt. Gov. Fetterman incited “chaos” on Senate floor as Democrat caucus staged protest, shouting match
The Senate Democrat caucus staged a walk off of the floor briefly before reentering the room to continue shouting opposition to the bill, including Lt. Gov. John Fetterman who also chose to leave the rostrum with Democrats that attempted to sabotage the vote. State Senate President Joe Scarnati (R-Jefferson) took the gavel from Fetterman to put the vote in motion.
– Sen. Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-Centre) called for a “point of order,” and a shouting match ensued.
– Corman later pointed blame at Fetterman for not intervening and said his job was to enforce the rules and not be a “partisan hack.” He added that it was the “worst day in the Senate” since he’s been there.
