Private property rights violated by Harrisburg Bureau of Codes, allegedly directed by Mayor: Federal Lawsuit
Former Codes Official Arden Emerick testified under oath to Magisterial District Justice Margeram that he was specifically directed by the mayor to cite the owner of 333 S. 18th Street for codes violations. This tactic was used in conjunction with the scheme to undervalue real estate in Allison Hill.
Harrisburg officials named in federal lawsuit for alleged real estate scheme
Several high profile figures are named in the lawsuit including Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse, and Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick.
The plaintiffs claim that the defendants targeted private property owners as part of an illegal rezoning plan coordinated by the Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority.
