Antonov military cargo jet loading equipment at Harrisburg International Airport, December 5, 2023

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – A massive Antonov cargo jet was spotted picking up crate loads of military equipment, supplies, and vehicles from Harrisburg International Airport yesterday. A video of it landing was provided to Harrisburg100.

The Antonov has landed at the airport occasionally over the years to pick up military equipment. After loading and refueling in Pennsylvania, the jet will reportedly be en route to Bangor, Maine.

There are several other massive cargo jets owned by the Antonov company. The world’s formerly largest airplane, the Antonov An-225 “Mriya,” was destroyed in February 2022 after Russia’s attack on Hostomel Airport near Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv.
