Update: Police believe the make and model of the suspect’s vehicle could be a Lexus IS250.
Hummelstown, Pennsylvania – Swatara Township, and Derry Township Police Departments continue to investigate a drive-by shooting that occurred on Route 322 near Chambers Hill. One man was injured in the shooting. The suspects fled eastbound on Route 322 into Derry Township.
In a press release on Friday September 16, 2022, police said a van was also shot at and hit. Photos of the suspect’s car were captured on video surveillance in Derry Township after the shooting.
On Friday, August 26, 2022 at approximately 10:24 a.m., the occupants of a grey four door sedan fired shots from within their vehicle and struck another vehicle and it’s driver while traveling eastbound in the 8300 block of Paxton Street / Rt. 322.

According to the Swatara Township Police Department, the incident occurred on Friday, Aug. 26, around 10:24 a.m. Police officers received a report of a road rage incident along Route 322 east. A man reported that he was driving eastbound down the hill, just before the bridge over Swatara Creek, when he switched into the right lane. Shortly after doing this, four rounds of gunshots were fired into the victim’s van with one of the rounds striking the man resulting in an injury, as reported by ABC27.
Police are seeking input from the general public to identify the suspects.
