Fairfax, Virginia – NAACP member Michelle Leete prompted applause after she cheered for the deaths of students and parents who oppose critical race theory during an event organized by The Fairfax Democratic Committee. The party’s chair, Bryan Graham, was seen nodding his head and applauding Leete when she said “let them die,” referring to critical race theory (CRT) opponents.
In response to the release of the video, Graham published a tweet blaming Trump for encouraging politically motivated violence, stating, “I reject “let them die.” I also reject the idea that the @FairfaxDems rally encouraged violence. With context, we understood the speaker’s sentiment: that forces trying to divide us need to stop. Unlike Trump, we do not encourage violence against people who disagree with us.”
