Harrisburg, Pa – Pennsylvania state Rep. Andrew Lewis condemned a book on the mandatory elementary reading list for 4th & 5th grade students in the Lower Marion School District, calling it “sanctioned racism.”
The book titled, Not My Idea, teaches that “whiteness” is the devil, luring children with promises of “stolen land [and] stolen riches,” according to Lewis.
He explained, “This is literally state sanctioned racism, happening right here in PA. This is why we need my legislation, HB1332, which will mandate school districts to publish all curriculum and textbook information online for parents to see, BEFORE the school year starts. Critical Race Theory is racist, toxic and has no place in our schools.”
