PROTESTERS ARRESTED AT TOWNHALL MEETING
On 7/5/17 a town hall meeting was scheduled at ABC 27 with Senator Toomey regarding health care. This event was scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
At 6:18 PM officers on scene requested assistance with crowds that were preventing ABC 27 staff from entering and leaving the property. Several warnings were given to the protesters that they would have to step back from driveway, knocking over barricades, and blocking the electric fence that allowed access to their private parking lot or they would risk arrest.
Ultimately six protesters were arrested and charged with simple trespassing, a summary offense. Once the arrests were made the crowds remained behind barricades and cleared access to the building.
Senator Toomey did arrive as scheduled and the town hall meeting was held.
