PennLive Editorial represents a radical ideology

I can’t believe I have to write this letter to the editor. It’s a talk that I gave to my children before seeing the popular movie, “Wicked” – and now I have to lay it out for the Dauphin County Democrats Chairwoman Rogette Harris and her ilk, like Ms. Izanne Leonard-Haak, who praised her with “kudos” in a follow-up piece, to Pennlive.

Ms. Harris takes on a lot of big themes like the “nature of truth” – and what she calls: “moral complexity.” And, yes, as Hollywood often does, it wants you to question your beliefs, but it leads viewers like flying monkeys to moral relativism – the ol’ anything goes “morality.”

So, I’ll share with Ms Harris & your readers the same warning I gave to my children prior to showtime at the AMC:

Yes, Hollywood wants you to see Elphaba, the young Wicked Witch character, as a poor, misunderstood green little “victim”; her wickedness is all to blame on …others, of course. Everyone ‘else’ is bad, and then the movie from start to finish makes its best effort to distort everything you believe!

But, sadly, Ms. Harris can’t separate truth from Hollywood cinematic theatre! Ms. Harris – like Elphaba – is pained for the goat in the movie, who presents as a mature, talking professor at Shiz University – but is a metaphor for the “marginalized” in our society, as he’s escorted out of Shiz, (the school of sorcery), for – well, for being a “goat.” Yes, this is the “parable” from which Ms. Harris is maturing her morality guidelines.

Ms. Harris sees in the goat – the “marginalized” of our society, and she highlights: refugees and LGBQT+ (note: that ‘plus’ symbol always unnerves me because it engulfs so much more than the alphabet that precedes it, but I digress).  Anyway, at this point, I would encourage Ms. Harris to turn off Hollywood and open up a book, and here’s a suggestion: “It’s Not Like Being Black: How Sexual Activists Hijacked the Civil Rights Movement,” by Voddie T. Baucham.

One point on which I will agree with Ms. Harris is that mistreatment causes a negative reaction and most certainly does ripple. It’s one of the reasons we see so much generational domestic violence and sexual victimization repeated by generations.  Sin itself is generational!

But that doesn’t excuse the sin, the crime. For this reason, we have moral boundaries; we have law and order, which can be traced back to the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. Law and order is good. Tradition is good, Ms. Harris.

Ms. Harris then takes on Glinda, the “good” witch, now exposed in Wicked, as the “bad” witch, “complicit in a system that rewards conformity and overlooks moral complexity.” This I find rich: considering that Hollywood’s cheapest tactics – dancing “nursing” staff during Covid, conformed millions to get the high-risk vaccine; others were “rewarded” with a donut.  And, dare we take on transgenderism. Yes, another “conformity” crisis. Does Ms. Harris know “transgenderism” is now termed a “fad” because of the sharp statistical rise in youth in recent years?? Are these the “marginalized” we should embrace? Do we need a lesson on “moral complexity” to understand why these pyschological identity crises are at near-epidemic proportions?

The irony here is that the evil empire of Hollywood itself is behind it all; and Ms. Harris is apparently applauding their amoral programming! And it doesn’t stop at the big screen, it’s the constant feed of social media influencers, spewing their false religion to entrap the young today, and convince them that their lack of “happiness” is rooted in their looks, their bodies, their identities. Ms. Harris seems to be affirming that! (Does Ms. Harris have children??)

Our children are made in God’s image; they all have equal dignity and need to be raised as such! They don’t need to change their God-given identities; I contend that Hollywood needs to change its false identity as god & authority on moral law.

I don’t know everything. I do know that Harris’ party has made its mission to embrace all the marginalized of society, and in another era, that is / was a commendable idea, when the marginalized were grouped by immutable characteristics like skin color.

But today’s “marginalized” are being manufactured by Hollywood, perverting the young en masse, and subverting the roles of men and women in our traditional family-structured society. And now, even the pedophilia movement is squeaking out in the open. They are crying to have protections as “marginalized” for their Minor-Attracted-Persons identities that they share. And surely your readers know bestiality lurks in the shadows too; yes, the perversions that exists in our world would love to be “mainstream” – not “marginalized.”  Oh, what a Wonderful World of Oz they dream of! And, they are paving the yellow brick road for all of us to follow along, to conform, to not question “Hollywood.” (Insert eyeroll.)

I will end this to say: we are all on this journey. And, we all want to pursue life, liberty – and happiness. But it would behoove us to turn to God for that “happiness” …yellow brick roadmap, versus Hollywood. Because to Ms. Harris’ point: “appearances are not what they seem.”  I pray for the spirit of discernment for my children; and I will add Ms. Harris – and Ms. Leonard-Haak – to my prayer list!

Sincerely,

Concerned Central Pennsylvania Mother
