Derry Township, Pennsylvania — At tonight’s business meeting, the Derry Township Board of Supervisors voted to table plans for a mosque to be built at the new Hershey Islamic Center behind Sheetz on Middletown Road in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Supervisors cited concerns about the parking lot size and suggested the project should include widening Stoverdale Road.
A parking lot with 95 parking spots is being proposed to accommodate the 300-person worship facility with an attached elementary school for 210 students.
Other concerns related to fire department access to the rear of the facility, as well as the lack of an outdoor playground for students were raised by supervisors.
Requiring the widening of Stoverdale Road will add significant costs and environmental regulations to the project related to moving a stream that runs parallel to the road along the property. Supervisors cited a traffic study that indicated 1000 trips per day at peak use, and the improvements PennDOT is planning for Middletown Road.

Why does this country allow a mosque to be built by a group of people that want to destroy the United States of America? I don’t know if our governor Shapiro gave any taxpayer money for this project, but he did give $5 million to help build a mosque in Philadelphia. It seems so stupid when Shapiro is a Jew and we all know what Islam is about lol

They say they’re very worried about the parking but it seems strange that they’re not worried about what the Islamic center is about. This is troubling and strange if you ask me.

There is a honey bee who is essential to grow our food and then there is the strain of killer bees who try to destroy anyone coming near their hive. There are ‘honeybee muslims’ and ‘killer bee muslims.’ The media shows you the killer bee types (a small minority) to create fear and division. The honeybee muslims (the majority) are hard working, responsible, friendly and respectful of their neighbors, no matter what religion they are. There are many mosques, synagogues & churches in our area living in peace for decades. Who is trying to install hatred and fear in us?
We need to think – who benefits by keeping these ‘religious’ wars going? You can bet it isn’t the people of God, the One Family of human beings descended from Abraham. Unity brings us wisdom, lovingkindness and peace. Divisiveness brings us war & death.
