With four open seats in the 2025 election for Derry Township School Board of Directors, four Democrats have strategically cross-filed as Republicans ahead of the May primary election, including one candidate previously registered with no party affiliation. Their names will appear on both Republican ballots, and Democrat ballots in May.

Pennsylvania election law dictates closed primary elections where voters are restricted to electing candidate’s of only their registered party, effectively maintaining a strict two-party system with little opportunity for independent and unendorsed candidates. Cross-filing enables candidates to bypass this restriction, increasing their likelihood of advancing to the general election.

The school board elections in Derry Township will merely be a formality arranged by the clever, albeit legal, maneuvering of the campaign manager because conveniently there are just four options available to fill the four open seats. There is no competition. Therefore the general election winners in November have been arranged prior to the May primary election with nearly 100% accuracy. (Assuming no long-shot independent, or write-in campaigns emerge.)

Cross-filed school board candidates are misleading voters to believe they are electing true Republicans who are actually Democrats in disguise.

Since the Department of Education was created in 1979 by democrats, the US went from #1 to #24. Maybe they can do the same in Derry Township.

These candidates that are doing this, to me are not being truthful. The average citizen does not know what is going on, therefore could be voting for the wrong candidate. This should not be allowed. The only reason for it that I can see would be to deceive voters and to me that would disqualify them for being able to even run if they’re already starting the deception before they even elected.

I was at a Townhall for a candidate in a school district in Central PA not too long ago and asked way more questions than anyone else that was there. One of them being do they support men and women sports. I was very disappointed by the answer. It’s very important. We get the right people in our school boards that will protect our children and not pander and lie to the trans and gay community saying that it’s OK for a teenage boy to walk into a teenage girls locker room. How would you like to be a young girl in a first experience with naked man is basically a mentally off boy showing his penis to a girl right next to her in a locker room? This is barbaric and should be stopped. This could be extremely traumatizing for a young girl to experience let alone an adult. Everyone says we should have empathy for these people, and I think most people do, the real issue is that these people do not have empathy for 99.9% of the population and this is the problem.

Democrats are playing dirty in many school board races. No integrity. They want to win at all costs. They want to spend every school district into bankruptcy so they can force the state to suspend ACT 1 to raise taxes beyond the normal ceiling. Democrats are destroying education and the American way of life.

The premise of boostattendance.org is absurd. I know someone who
told his principal he had to drop out but was told to only show up on
Fridays for exams and assignments and study at home; He was then told
to skip twelfth grade and go straight to college and his college did the same
in his junior year and sent him to an Ivy dental school, and he became
chief oral surgeon simultaneously for two counties. So we are supposed
to instead be concerned that teachers have more pay instead of helping
students? How do they reconcile thecontradicition of boostattendance.org with paperceiling.org?
The same with the silly claim about school supplies
donorschoose.org, play materials to satisfy schoolmarmish fantasy
games. And the librarians who go out of their way to make your
    children (not only adults)
read banned books. These are the librarians who in the 1980s
began replacing serious graduate textbooks with videos and popular flash.
    And organisations like universities and
libraries are using public subsidies to lobby for more public
subsidies. We need to replace the kerteachulas with robots.
We can’t keep taxing the elderly out of their homes to pay school taxes
to fund such shenanigans. These kerteachulas have no real world experience
and teach the wierdest misundertandings of reality but insist it is fact.

so the question no one is asking is where are all of the Republican candidates. Nothing the Dems have done is preventing true republicans to run. I guess really, if they did not cross file, there would be no need for a republican primary.

that’s Lindsay drew, she ran for pa house in 2020 but lost even though biden “won” dauphin county. She was just too far down ballot to be worth cheating for in the 2020 election.

The problem is the party system (whether democrat or republican) and government documenting standards My comments are on the national/state system in general. Both parties are corrupt enough to abuse power (stop drinking the red and blue koolaid). US spends the most on education in the world on public education but fail to address the real problems. Derry Township is one of the good schools in the Area but good still does not equal great. (Go ahead and pat yourself on the back because you are better than average.) I do think it funny that we focus on grades verses learning. If you have an A going into a final, a student does not need to take a final. I think students should still take the final but the school not count the grade to see how much knowledge the student actually retains. New money directed to education never solves the issue…it just is pocketed by organizations and people that do not directly contribute to the education of the student. Many schools and communities are more focused on their sport programs rather than are they preparing their students for success. Our entertainment system does not help with movies that dumb down our society which breeds stupidity/crass/poor behavior …. should we be surprised when they emulate that same behavior and stupidity. Really not change will be made if the board actually is humble enough to focus on what is best for the students and the community instead of their party agenda.
