Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania — William “Bill” Bachenberg from Lehigh County has made it official. In a press release issued first to Harrisburg100, today he has announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, promising to bring “meaningful change” to the state GOP.
Since forming an exploratory committee last week, Bachenberg said there has been an overwhelming outpouring of support from many State Committee Members in all parts of the state urging him to run for needed change. This past weekend, in a meeting with an ad hoc group of rural county chairmen, he received almost unanimous support from the twenty-four (24) chairs present, with one being neutral. In today’s announcement, he said he believes the show of support was driven by “frustration over recent dropouts and bids for Chairman.”
And in spite of the fact that the 2024 elections were mostly successful for the Republican party in Pa., Bachenberg has heard a resounding call from state party members for “bold new leadership, a fresh direction and a decisive break from the status quo.”
As a successful businessman and CEO, Bachenberg has built a trail of success in creating and running many businesses over five decades. Bachenberg is a successful entrepreneur, engineer, inventor, mentor, conservationist and philanthropist. Bachenberg was recently elected 1st Vice President of the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights organization, the NRA 2.0.
During the 2020 election cycle, Bachenberg was President Donald J. Trump’s PA Finance Co-Chairman and Chairman for the “Sportsmen for Trump” coalition. He played a key role in securing multiple venues for Trump Rallies in Pennsylvania over the past two election cycles and has hosted numerous political events for State and Federal candidates.
Additionally, Bachenberg was Chairman of the Electoral College in 2020 as an Alternate Elector and an Elector for 2024. He coordinated NRA and HunterNation’s PA “Hunt-the-Vote” initiative that significantly helped in flipping Congressional Districts PA-7 and PA-8 and holding PA-10. In addition, the Hunt-the-Vote initiative helped the local efforts in turning Centre County red.
Bachenberg remarked “I am deeply grateful for the encouragement and support from so many State Committee Members as I announce my candidacy for Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania.”
“This grassroots campaign is self-funded and uncompromised—no consultants, no political endorsements, and no ulterior motives. I’m committed to bringing trust, transparency, and integrity to the Chairmanship, ensuring this is a movement for meaningful change, not a stepping stone for personal ambition.”

Fantastic! Thanks to Bill Bachenberg for stepping up to challenge the Establishment pick!
