Hampden Township, Pennsylvania — Ana-Maria Velcu, 35, no address given, was charged with two felonies related to Criminal Trespass / Breaking into Structure; and two misdemeanors in connection with a Feb. 2, 2023 attempted break-in; her friend, Anisoara Nistor, 43, reportedly of Baltimore, Maryland, was also charged by Hampden Township Police with Criminal Mischief – Damaging Property, a misdemeanor in connection to the incident. Nistor served one month in Cumberland County Prison.

The Romanian nationals were featured in a newstory on WFMD-930 radio for their role in organized burglaries in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Officials said individuals, like Nistor, travel long distance from their homes, and typically operate minivans; they target occupied homes by using distraction techniques to commit thefts or burglaries. They also go after unoccupied residences, committing forced entry burglary and thefts. Nistor was also wanted by Interpol, at the time of her Maryland arrest.
