Hershey, Pennsylvania – Last year Wawa set a target of opening 40 central Pennsylvania locations, and the construction of two new Wawa stores have now been proposed near downtown Hershey.

Traffic scoping information is being considered for the development of a new Wawa location proposed on E. Chocolate Avenue in Palmdale.

Planning for another Wawa on Cocoa Avenue at Fishburn Road in Derry Township has also begun. The site is the former location of PNC Bank. The plan proposes to raze the existing structure and other site features and to construct a 5,585-square-foot Wawa store with associated site amenities, including parking areas, fuel pumps, and a fuel pump canopy.

Considerations for traffic, parking, floodplain and stormwater management are some of the primary concerns to be addressed by the developer during the planning phase.

In Middletown, site work is currently underway for the construction of a 6,049-square-foot store at the Linden Centre in Lower Swatara Township, near the Harrisburg International Airport. The shopping center with Sharp Shopper is under redevelopment.
