The new facility is being built on the town square in Steelton at 120 N. Front Street and will be located in a two-story building. The first floor of the building will include a clinical space for eight family practice exam rooms, a Women’s Infant & Children office, and a space for a future space for Hamilton Pharmacy, which will include a drive-thru location.

The second floor of the facility will house office space for staff and providers. In addition, the roof of the building will have 7,000 square feet of solar panels. The project is projected to be completed in 2024.

Marketing & Development Manager Tiffany Collier said construction of the new facility is expected to be finished in the second quarter of 2024. Hamilton Health Center will bring vital, affordable care options and resources to the Steelton/Highspire area.

Wormleysburg-based Integrated Development Partners was awarded $2.5 million in grant money in 2021 from that state to build the new center. The grant is from the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.

Hamilton Health Center was founded in 1969 and has locations in Harrisburg, Howe Township, Perry County; Millersburg, Dauphin County; and Lower Paxton Township. The organization also has satellite clinics in Middletown and East Hanover Township, Dauphin County. Hamilton Health also has a Women’s Infant & Children program in Elizabethville, Dauphin County.

Hamilton Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and one of the largest FQHC’s in all of Pennsylvania.
