Hershey, Pennsylvania – A Hershey Middle School teacher, Arthur Neal Titzel, was arrested Friday, Dec. 9 and charged with five felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of criminal use of a communications facility. The arrest was made by the state Office of Attorney General. According to court documents, Titzel is being held in Cumberland County Prison with bail set at $50,000.

Titzel is a former teacher at West Shore School District, and Annville-Cleona School District. Titzel has been teaching American Cultures at Hershey Middle School in the Derry Township School District. Titzel was also a member of the Hershey Middle School Steering Committee, and the Dungeons & Dragons Club Advisor.

The district sent out an email to parents this evening saying that along with Titzel’s arrest at his home, there was also police activity Friday at the middle school.

In the email, school superintendent Stacy Winslow wrote:

“The PA Attorney General’s Office informed us that in a preliminary investigation, no district students are connected to the arrest. Mr. Titzel will not be returning to campus during the investigation. This news is a shock to the school and our district.”

The district says starting Monday, school counselors will be available to support students.

According to his social media profile, Titzel wrote that he also drives Uber, “when I’m bored, need entertained, or desperately need cash to pay for my lavish teacher lifestyle.”

Titzel’s social media profile includes many posts expressing his extreme position regarding political protests and national riots, including a hate list of top U.S. Republicans.
