Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – A widespread outage has been reported in Lower Paxton Township this evening following a 16 inch water main break on Linglestown Rd at the intersection with Colonial Rd near Sheetz and Aroogas. Crews are on the scene where temperatures are forecast near 25°F in the Harrisburg area tonight, with wind chills below 15°F.

Water outages are also being reported in nearby Susquehanna Township, and as far away as Locust and Prince Streets, three miles from the water main break on Linglestown Rd. An estimated 50,000+ residents in Lower Paxton and Susquehanna Townships are centered in the area affected by the water outage.

According to the local utility provider Veolia Water Pennsylvania, the water main is now being repaired. There is currently no boil water advisory associated with this repair. Any customers who encounter discolored water are advised to flush cold water taps until water runs clear, and resume normal use.
