Harrisburg, Pa. – A HAZMAT response due to an ammonia leak is underway at the Sysco facility near I-83, and Union Deposit Rd.
Heavy fumes have been reported in the air, and are spreading in the area. First responders have reportedly offered medical attention to one patient at the scene.
Susquehanna Township Director of Public Safety Robert Martin said they are not sure where or how the leak started, as reported by abc27.
Some employees were inside at the time but no one was hurt.
Martin said there is no danger to the public. He said people who are nearby may smell the ammonia but it is not dangerous. He advises people to keep their windows closed.
