One report called the security forces Russian, however that claim was disputed.
According to another source, “These are Kazakh forces, but they did not arrest the journalist. This is a local morgue and the man who was later taken away tried to climb over the fence because there are queues and he is most likely the relative of one of the killed people. Tensions are extremely high.”
“The guy who was filming is from the Russian opposition channel called “Дождь” (Rain) which is actually a good channel and one of the few opposition channels left in Russia. The rest are under the state control. He tried approaching the morgue while filming. He had a jacket with “Press” written on it and had all the necessary documentation, yet they opened fire at his feet. He was not arrested himself and quickly left the scene after local people standing in the queue became aggressive towards the journalists.”
