10 shots fired during drive-by shooting on 3rd St. in Harrisburg
Harrisburg Police responded to the scene of a reported drive-by shooting in broad daylight at 3rd and Woodbine Streets. One resident said she heard 10 shots fired from a vehicle.
It is unknown if the suspects remain a threat to public safety.

Football brothers LeRon and LeSean McCoy are renovating 1000 N. 6th St.—at the corner of Boas Street—into a five-unit, market-rate apartment building, with additional retail or community space.

There was no backlash when State Rep. Jason Dawkins, a Muslim lawmaker, opened Tuesday’s legislative session by unexpectedly reading from the Quran. But it was State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz who was accused of bigotry after she invoked the name of Jesus on Monday, just before the Legislature’s first Muslim woman, Rep. Johnson-Harrell, was sworn in on the Quran at the Statehouse in Harrisburg.
PA Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf was outraged, later saying, “I was horrified,” and issued an apology to Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell.
Johnson-Harrell, the Muslim lawmaker, accused Borowicz of using her religion against her.
Innocent bystander shot while cooking in kitchen of Harrisburg home, shots fired from street
The man was preparing dinner just before 10 p.m. Saturday when he felt a sharp pain in his right arm. He saw he was bleeding and called 911.
Police found bullet holes in the siding of the second-floor balcony of the home, in the 1900 block of State Street. One bullet went through a wall and hit the victim’s right arm. He was treated at a hospital. Several vehicles had also been shot.

PA Senators Flip; Toomey (R) votes against Trump wall, Casey (D) votes against abortion
Of all U.S. Senators, Democrat Senator Bob Casey received the most money from Big Pharma at $121,500. (Big Pharmaceutical companies have corporate campuses in Pennsylvania.)
Casey joined Republicans on bill to require medical care for abortion survivors, although he also says he supports what he described as “funding for Planned Parenthood from far-right attacks.”
