Principal: English teacher will not return to Camp Hill Middle School after Thanksgiving break

Camp Hill, Pennsylvania — Families in Camp Hill received an email from the middle school principal informing them that the 7th grade English teacher will not be returning to school after the Thanksgiving holiday break.

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to inform you that Ms. Amber Pound, our 7th grade ELA teacher, will not be returning after the Thanksgiving break. We are grateful for her contributions to Camp Hill Middle School and wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Please know that our district is prioritizing the hiring of an outstanding teacher who will embody the mission and vision of Camp Hill School District by providing all students with the foundational skills, knowledge and opportunities for lifelong success.  In the meantime, we are working to hire a highly qualified long-term substitute with an ELA certification to fulfill the role until a permanent replacement is hired.

The 7th grade English teacher has been the subject of controversy dating back to 2022. Recently students believe she has struggled to cope with the 2024 Presidential Election, and has been called off multiple days since November 5.

Families in Camp Hill look forward to closing the door on this chapter of the past.
