Dauphin County, Pennsylvania — History has again been made in Hershey where Rogette Harris has been elected to serve a full 6-year term with the Derry Township Board of Auditors, becoming the first Black woman to be elected in the municipality. As an Auditor, Harris will meet with the board annually to establish the Treasurer’s Bond Limit, and the mileage compensation.

Harris was assumed to be a shoo-in candidate with no opposition on the primary or general election ballot. However, in what became an October surprise in Derry Township, former Planning Commissioner Sean Guay gained traction in the polls with a write-in campaign that drew attention to his plans to use AI to streamline township operations.

In the end, voters decidedly voiced their opinion at the ballot box, casting 6,635 votes for Harris to win the election in Derry Township, and the rest is history.

Harris has been serving as Secretary of the Derry Township Board of Auditors to finish the term of a former official, and she now has officially been elected for a full term.

This this isn’t her first major achievement.

Harris has also been serving as the Madam Chair of the Dauphin County Democratic Committee, and is authoring a book entitled “Madam Chair,” in which she details her experiences as an African-American woman in politics.

Harris graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 with a degree in Political Science where she was elected to be President of Pitt Democrats.

In 2014, Harris became the youngest woman and first African-American elected Chair of the Democratic Party in Dauphin County. After her unanimous re-election in 2018, she was the only African-American county chair in the state of Pennsylvania.

In 2020, Rogette Harris made a name for herself by debating FOX News analyst Jeffrey Lord.

In 2022, Harris was the first African-American woman elected Chair of the South Central Caucus of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party including Dauphin, Cumberland, Lebanon, Franklin, Adams, Perry, and York counties.

SO why did the editor add all the extra commentary. It seems like he or she is trying to diminish this achievement.

Achievement? Liberals spend 50% of their time complaining about how screwed up society is and the other 50% pushing insane policies that screw up society.

I didn’t know that cheating and ballot stuffing was an achievement.
