Camp Hill, Pennsylvania – A secret meeting scheduled in Camp Hill on July 22, 2023, has been called by the Cumberland County Republican Committee (CCRC) Chairman Lou Capozzi, according to a notice that was obtained by Harrisburg100 in recent days.

And, the reason for the clandestine meeting? To potentially remove nine (9) elected Committee Persons (CPs), who, Capozzi says, didn’t follow one of its CCRC bylaws in supporting only the CCRC-endorsed primary candidates.

CPs are elected officials; the role establishes a direct link between a political party and voters in a local election district (or precinct); there are often vacancies in which one can be appointed. It’s designed to be the representative at the level of the “grassroots.”

The special meeting notice was sent on June 21, and signed only by Capozzi.  It reads in part: “Due to the sensitive nature of this meeting, only Committee Members, their proxies, and others deemed necessary by the Chair (Capozzi), will be permitted in the meeting.” The meeting is set for July 22nd, at 10 a.m., at the West Shore Elks.

In a similar story last year, dated Jun. 15, 2022, Capozzi sent a censure letter to Sen. Mike Regan, R-Cumberland/York counties, for showing public support to non-endorsed candidates. Capozzi highlighted in that article the “value” of the CCRC endorsement.

Fast-forward to this past May’s primary: the failed campaign of a CCRC-endorsedcommissioner candidate, Nate Silcox, has seemingly struck a nerve with Capozzi. (Silcox is Capozzi’s CCRC Deputy Chair.) Voters instead chose incumbent Gary Eichelberger, who was the target of negative messaging by the CCRC, as well as social media posts, during the campaign season.

The controversial meeting has also been the subject of a scathing editorial piece in Thursday’s (July 13th) edition of Carlisle Sentinel, titled: “Republican Committee Only Seeks to Divide.”

Capozzi’s only goal is he seeks to turn Cumberland County into the People’s Republic of Capozzi. The missing element of this story: His chief financial and organizational backer is former party chair, best known for skimming from the party’s coffers through his rent laundering scheme, now-Senator Greg Rothman. Specifics reported in Carlisle Sentinel in detail.

Rothman is a convicted felon (or was, until he bought a pardon from his good friend Ed Rendell) is a self-described “win-o-crat” who will aim only to he on the side of whoever is winning. Tried to steal the county’s covid recovery money multiple times to grease the palms of his friends. He backrolled the cumberland GOP campaign to defeat me and turn the courthouse over to perpetual cronyism with his dark money PAC propping up RINO candidates.

Rothman, just like Democrat-in-disguise Capozzi, puts personal politics over the people — every time. He and Capozzi share the goal of pilfering the county treasury for their own interests that have NOTHING to do with good government.

Those committee members are elected by the people. Frankly, a candidate endorsed by the Republican party is a red flag.

ANSWER: Nothing! RINO totalitarianism is totalitarianism like any totalitarianism. If anyone wonders how our country got to where it is, don’t bother looking to the Democrats – – they do their evil right in our faces – – look to the Republican Party and its “leadership” and you will find all the answers you need.

So they are kicked out of the Capozzi pizza party. They are still duly elected Committee members and he can’t do a damm thing about it! The B.O.E. certifies a duly elected committee person, not the Republican Committee… let that sink in..

I was there for that set up, it was sickening to watch every right we have guaranteed by the constitution thrown in the garbage so this vindictive little man can show his power. Ask yourself why didn’t Capozzi support the incumbent commissioner? Why have Pa republicans been losing somany elections? Why did 102 assigned committee people March in lockstep with Lou?
