In the race for Cumberland County Sheriff, the ballot gives voters no choice. That just changed, because Cumberland County native, Christopher J. Darhower, has entered the race as a write-in candidate.
Chris has served in law enforcement in Cumberland County and understands the unique challenges facing our diverse and growing community. He firmly believes that the role of law enforcement is—and must remain—nonpartisan, and that the duty of law enforcement is to enforce the law equally, without prejudice, and within the bounds of the United States Constitution.
Chris’s life has been dedicated to public service. From a combat tour overseas with the U.S. Army to humanitarian deployment during Hurricane Katrina with the Pennsylvania National Guard, he’s seen firsthand the consequences of unequal justice and the power of community-driven service.
He’s proudly worn many uniforms—soldier, police officer, EMT, firefighter, and K9 handler. Chris attended the Pennsylvania State Police Instructor Academy, earned national K9 certification, and continues to support local K9 teams whenever called upon. He’s held the titles of Platoon Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Chief during his tenure in service.
Running for Sheriff is not about politics—it’s about people, safety, fairness, and community. Chris understands that.
I encourage every eligible voter to participate in the process. Your vote matters—your voice matters. Even a write-in candidate can make a difference. And I can’t think of anyone more qualified to make that difference for the residents of Cumberland County than Chris.
Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, please join me on May 20 in writing in “Christopher J. Darhower” for Cumberland County Sheriff.

We need more elected officials who take a hard stand for our constitutional rights. Christopher is one of those we can proudly vote for who will.
