It appears that the Cumberland County Republican Party is once again not being consistent or transparent. I recently met Jeffrey Clark, the winner of the Republican primary election for the position of District Magistrate for magisterial district 9-3-04, which covers Hampden and Silver Spring townships. There was another District Magistrate position that was open and that was magisterial district 9-1-01, which covers Lower Allen Township and the boroughs of New Cumberland and Shiremanstown. The winner of the Republican primary election for that district was Chris Delozier, the incumbent. I want to make it very clear that I have nothing against Chris Delozier. My letter pertains to the actions or lack thereof regarding the Cumberland County Republican Party.
What I find interesting is that Chris Delozier is listed as a supported candidate on the November 4, 2025, Republican poll card for his district. Chris won his election and should be listed on the poll card. No problem. Yet Jeffrey Clark, is not listed on the Republican poll card for the district in which he won the Republican primary. Can anyone on the county Republican committee explain why Jeffrey Clark’s name doesn’t appear on the poll card?
As stated, I met Jeffrey Clark not long ago and was quite impressed with him and his credentials. Jeff is a decorated military veteran of the USAF and served during Desert Storm, was decorated with multiple awards and has obtained four law enforcement degrees. He has served for various police departments, including the Harrisburg Bureau of Police. He strikes me as a genuine individual and the position of district magistrate seems like an excellent fit. Why is the county Republican Party not supporting this very qualified candidate? No surprise, the rumor mill is quite extensive on this one. If I had to bet on a reason for why Jeff is apparently being shunned by his own political party is the likely continuation of the patronage that runs rampant in the county Republican Party. When I was county commissioner, I had to deal with some of these people and unless you did what the so-called leadership told you what to do, you would not be supported. Maybe I’m being naïve but how are you going to get the best candidates if they must play “the game” with a group of party leaders that in my opinion, are short on integrity? In addition, what happened to the other Republican candidates that were planning to run for Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas but suddenly disappeared shortly before the May 2025 primary election?
Some recent letters submitted by other concerned Republicans seem to hit on the same topic. When I see names mentioned like Capozzi, Silcox, and Nestor it really makes me wonder what is really going on within the county Republican Party. I hope someone within the Cumberland County Republican committee will comment on these issues with the truth.

It was embarrassing and childish. This gang will shame ridicule and try to intimidate anyone that doesn’t agree with their flimsy arguments about the financial situation at CV. In one moment, they claim perfection.
CV is the best school district on the planet… the teachers are the best test scores the students are the best everything is the best, then in the next sentence they’re begging for money because the district is in need. How can CV be the best and the worst and in so much need at the same moment? Nothing Verber states is true. All wishful thinking and grandiose theories. Do you know if we are going to get 1 more credit downgrade or another double downgrade? The bond company will not accept the accounting maneuver to add borrowed money to the general fund to make Cumberland Valley appear to have more reserves than they do. I realize some in the public can get fooled by that but the bond proxy will show the actual numbers for reserves and debt. When does their audit get done? Their auditors should correct that in the annual financial statements.

Greg Rausch’s actions lack integrity, character, and ability at times to follow PA law! Sweeps issues under rug, turns a blind eye to bullying, no desire to ensure accountability. Also, has to resort to having his wife defend him on social media. Rausch is so that he’s even afraid of the CV Bird Flipper. I’ve heard audios of his public meltdown…especially “this job sucks”…what a weak and sad man having to be propped up by others.

Can anyone please explain the cv cures lie about the budget having a surplus? Since 2024 we have heard about shortfalls and receivership. Now suddenly we have extra money out of nowhere? I watched the video clip of the board member saying “What’s the difference if we take 145 million and we reduce it to 90 million “. It’s clear they don’t understand the impact and gravity of their decisions on the budget. It’s clear some don’t care. If we have elected officials who don’t understand that borrowed money doesn’t balance a budget we have serious problems. In fact since you have to pay it back with interest it makes the long term situation worse. To answer your question it is legal, but it DOES NOT balance the budget. It allows cash flow during difficult times, like the state budget impasse. They will face another drop in credit rating.
