Cumberland County, Pennsylvania — Illegal alien, Mohamad Idle Farah, last known to be residing in Mechanicsburg, remains in state prison (SCI-Greene), related to threats he issued to assassinate President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

Farah, who hails from Somalia, has a long rap sheet in our region, including assaults on prison guards, as reported in the Daily Voice (DV) in June 2022.

Farah, now 34, was held in Cumberland County prison from January 2022 – September 2023.  He is now in SCI-Greene.

The DV reported:  “The indictment alleges that in January 2022, Farah, who is a citizen of Somalia, threatened to assassinate President Biden. The indictment further alleges that Farah threatened to assassinate former President Trump if he runs for reelection,” United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated in the initial release.

The exact threats were supposedly posted online although that document is now sealed. About Biden, Farah posted he would “kill him literally dead,” and against the former president: “Trump when he reruns,” and that “I’m going to be at his campaign and dedicate my life to assassinating Trump.”

The threats were investigated by the Secret Service, FBI, and the Lower Allen Police Department, according to the release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli prosecuted the case.

The maximum penalty for each offense was five years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine, according to the USDOJ. After he completes his sentence, Farah, “may face deportation,” according to the latest release by the USDOJ.

Other charges imposed on Farah relate to assaults against corrections officers. On June 23, 2023, Farah allegedly “attempted to assault another inmate and when a Correction Officer intervened, Farah assaulted the Officer by biting him,” according to a release by Middlesex Township police. “Farah then spit in the face of two other Correction Officers who responded to assist,” as stated in the release. For that incident, Farah has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Harassment by a Prisoner, and Simple Assault, according to the DV article.

Other minor charges against Farah in our region include:  Public drunkenness charge in Harrisburg in June 2020; summary Defiant Trespass charge in Upper Allen Township in August 2020; summary Disorderly Conduct charge in Upper Allen Township in January 2022. The only local coverage of this illegal immigrant was in Daily Voice.
