Update: Mehaffie unopposed after ballot challenges — and party pressure
Middletown, Pennsylvania – Middletown Mayor James Curry offered to moderate a public debate between candidates for the House of Representatives election in Pennsylvania’s 106th Congressional District.
Via his popular social media profile, Curry proposed the idea of the debate between incumbent Rep. Tom Mehaffie, Republican challenger Bobby Jeffries, and Democrat challenger Anju Singh.
Candidate Bobby Jeffries of Hershey has agreed to the debate.
Candidate Anju Singh of Hummelstown told Harrisburg100 that the debate is a good idea. However, she won’t commit to a debate before the primary election. She is currently uncontested in her primary bid.
“Right now a debate between Mehaffie and Jeffries is perhaps a better idea. There is competition within the Republican party. The winner of that competition will be up against me,” Singh stated.
