Hershey, Pennsylvania – Revised plans for Tikka Shack were approved and construction has now begun at 150 West Chocolate Avenue. The scope of the project includes the renovation of an existing building at the intersection of Ridge Road.

Original plans that called for the complete demolition of the building at that site were voted down by township officials, therefore creating an opportunity for the community to repurpose the existing building.

Tikka Shack features “the best in Indian cuisine.” The restaurant also has a West Shore location that has been highly successful near the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg.

The building was formerly The Hershey Information Center, and was originally built for residential use in the 1930s.

As reported by The Sun, the property was once owned by former Derry Township supervisor Justin Engle, who purchased it in 2006 for $425,000. TKS Hershey Realty, the applicant for Tikka Shack, later bought it from relatives of Engle in 2020 for $800,000.
