Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Mrs. Pennsylvania, the beautiful Susan Ewing of Harrisburg, is traveling to Las Vegas to compete in the upcoming Mrs. American competition, taking place at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. The winner of Mrs. American goes on to compete at Mrs. World.

Susan has won multiple competitions at the state level this year, and she is now advancing to the national stage. Susan is honored to have been crowned Mrs. Harrisburg, and Mrs. Pennsylvania in 2023. In addition to her stunning beauty, Susan’s charm and intelligence inspires courage in every person with whom she encounters.

When asked about her pageant platform, Susan described her story of success, and how she was able to overcome family tragedy. “You are not defined by your past, today is a new day, and you can make a positive change in your life right now,” Susan told Harrisburg100.

Susan’s platform, “Tragedy to Triumph,” was developed from the experience of losing her father and sister to substance abuse disorder and overdose, and becoming a mother to her niece. She wants to inspire recovery through her story of overcoming family addiction and overdose. Susan’s message is that you, too, can be a success story!

Susan’s motivating factor throughout her pageant endeavors is being a voice for the 20 million Americans suffering from substance abuse disorder and an ambassador of hope to their families.

Susan has has participated in 50 appearances and media interviews highlighting several local nonprofits that she cares deeply about. She has traveled and shared her message in Harrisburg, Lebanon, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Mount Alto, Bedford, and even Delaware State! Prior to summer break, she spoke with over 1,000 students at several educational facilities. Susan supported raising $500,000 for substance abuse recovery through a partnership with M28 Ministry U.S.

Fun fact: The Westgate Las Vegas was Elvis Presley’s residency venue, where he performed 636 sold-out shows, including his final performance. Susan has been an Elvis Presley fan since she was a little girl and she is humbled by the opportunity to stand on the iconic “Elvis” stage! She will attend a formal reception in Elvis’ lavish 5,000-square-foot Imperial Suite.
