Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Harrisburg100 is investigating rumored reports that the Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, Lawrence Tabas, is hosting an emergency zoom call with all 67 county chairpersons, in order to address the “purge” of Committee Persons that is reportedly happening in multiple counties, most notably in Cumberland County, where seven (7) Committee People have been “suspended indefinitely” (plus one removed & one assured he’ll be reinstated after the November General Election).

Also sounding the alarms to restrain these radical moves is Joshua Prince, a Berks County attorney, who was a Commonwealth Court candidate in the recent May 16th Primary.  Prince wrote a series of blog post, starting with this July 17th post, where he made public his June 28th letter to Tabas, imploring him to intervene and that if a CP was removed, he/she be “immediately reinstated.”  Prince referenced in his letter state GOP bylaws – which are not to be contradicted by county committee bylaws – and outline that removal of committee persons for supporting an unendorsed candidate in the Primary is not cause for removal.

In Prince’s letter, he also references a CP who was reportedly removed from Montgomery County Republican Committee; and that in Chester County, four members have been notified of hearings to take place about their removal.

Following suit, Sam Faddis, the President of the Pennsylvania Patriot Coalition, which is comprised of more than 100 Patriot groups across the state, also issued a call to Tabas, via a letter, shared on FB, which boasts a growing number of followers.  In that letter, Faddis demanded an end to the expulsion of CPs; and he delved into the history of the Primary Election, which exists to settle these divisions within the party and unite behind the nominees, selected by the people, the voters at large.

Faddis also brought attention to the fact that county GOP chairpersons and committee persons at the state and county levels have pledged NOT to support the party’s candidates in the General Election, even though they were successful in the Primary.  Presumably, Faddis is referring to the Primary win of Sen. Doug Mastriano, who was – first, not endorsed by the state party in a closed meeting, cast as controversial because historically endorsements have been issued; and secondly, public & monetary support was not widely lent to Mastriano by Republican leadership. In Cumberland County, the CCRC Chairperson Lou Capozzi refused to even put a sign in his yard for Mastriano, who the people chose as their nominee, while other Republican candidates signs were displayed.

Asked for comment on the current controversy, Mastriano said: “Republicans have proven once again that they are far better at beating up our own people than defeating Democrats.”

Harrisburg100 will stay on top of this issue; and asks you too to keep us informed of news happening related to this “purge” in your county!

RINOs need purged from the Republican Party. Most RINOs would betray the constitution without a 2nd thought and many already have. RINOs are no different than democrats. RINOs like Lou think they are superdelegates like in the DNC that ignore the votes of the common American.

It’s just rich that Capozzi says” once again Republicans are better at beating up our own than beating democrats” well who removes committee people who disagrees
with him rather than use diplomacy. And why are we not supporting the incumbent??

More disconcerting is what if all these refused and / or purged, elected precinct committee people were to go back to their constituents and explain the state of the GOP? All the disregard by rogue county chairs and their executive committee is causing a fracture in the party — which was thought to be avoided at all costs — by those who were purged. Meaning, ‘my hubby or son’ is beating me is not something the victim ought to hide. The only way to stop the ‘beating’ is to tell someone. So those refused, bullied, marginalized, or purged MUST stand up and tell their stories. It’s the only way to redeem the party. Otherwise, I promise you Republicans will lose locally, and nationally. Those marginalized weld far more power than those victimizing.

Regardless, either Tabas fixes this or he’ll go down as the leader who greelighted the destruction of the party at the state level.
