Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf joined state and local leaders in East Pennsboro Township for a tour of blighted properties in West Fairview Village to highlight how Restore Pennsylvania will aid in the area and revitalize communities. The massive rebuilding plan funded through a commonsense severance tax will help commonwealth communities address blight, expand broadband access, mitigate the effects of localized flooding, and expand green infrastructure.

Of Wolf’s proposal for infrastructure investment, PA State Rep Greg Rothman says, “I have not, do not, and will not support a severance tax. We already have an impact fee and while I support infrastructure investment, it should be done with existing tax dollars. My presence at the Governor Wolf’s visit was out of professional courtesy and a chance to promote West Fairview.”

Another concerned citizen in Cumberland County defined Wolf’s proposed ‘common sense severance tax’ as “borrowing billions of dollars now, bonding that debt, adding to state budget obligations, all for pet projects the Governor wants,” said Carl Mararra. He went on to add, “You also think that money is coming to Cumberland County and not to Philadelphia? Not what I call “economic development” advocacy from an economic development corporation. How much money did Cumberland County receive for green space and infrastructure projects through the impact tax the industry already pays?”

According to Governor Wolf’s plan, Restore Pennsylvania will invest $4.5 billion over the next four years in significant high-impact projects throughout the commonwealth to help catapult Pennsylvania ahead of every state in the country in terms of technology, development, and infrastructure.

Maybe if Rothman wasn’t such a shady character to begin with, no one would have to question where he is on this or any other issue. This guy plays with whoever can help him personally, regardless of party of position. He is not principle-motivated unless you consider self-enrichment and self-promotion to be a “principle.” He is the chief driver of the war against authentic conservatives the Cumberland County GOP machine has been engaged in for the past several years. He was liberal Senator Pat Vance’s chief hatchet man and dirty tricks specialist. And just like her, he expects to now control everything and everybody associated with our county including demanding the misappropriation of taxpayer property tax dollars to be used to help his cronies of both parties. His ambitions have no bounds and no conscience.
