Hershey, Pennsylvania — Derry Township voted to contract brokerage giant Raymond James Financial Inc. to manage SEC filings for timely financial disclosures at tonight’s board of supervisors meeting. Township Manager Chris Christman said contracting Raymond James will ensure timely filings of financial disclosures to maintain a high bond rating for the township. The vote of confidence was made pending further contractual review from the township solicitor and board members.
Final farewells were made to Township Manager Christman at tonight’s board meeting. Supervisors and department heads shared reflections of their time with Christman, wishing him all the best. Christman has accepted a position in Abington Township, Montgomery County beginning in January 2025.
Supervisors highlighted the financial success of the township under Christman’s guidance, and he briefly outlined the future outlook of township finances. In the long term, Christman said the operating reserve is projected to reach $10 million by the end of 2028, with nearly $5 million in the general fund, therefore having nearly $15 million liquid cash.
Township supervisors appointed Zack Jackson as interim township manager at tonight’s board meeting. Jackson has been the assistant township manager since January 2024, and formerly the director of the parks and rec department. The board agreed it will take time to interview candidates before officially appointing a permanent manager.
