Hampden Township, Pennsylvania — Rubi Ambrocio-Gonzales, 33, is currently serving a sentence in state prison, after pleading guilty to criminal counts including involuntary manslaughter and possession of drugs with intent to deliver in connection with a October 2021 fatal overdose of a Carlisle woman.

This story was featured in Pennlive, but failed to mention he was the subject of an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detainer – for being an illegal immigrant.

The victim, a 54-year-old married mother of three from South Middleton Township, was found dead in a room at the Hampton Inn in Hampden Township. Autopsy reports showed she died from an overdose due to acute fentanyl and cocaine toxicity.

Ambrocio-Gonzales was also charged in Dauphin County in April 2022 with multiple felony illegal firearms and drug-related charges, and in a separate incident with False ID to Law Enforcement (a misdemeanor). He was sentenced to a minimum term of 40 months in state prison and could be eligible for parole in April 2026. He is currently housed in SCI-Greene County.

According to court documents, Hampden Township Police said they were able to crack the case with the help of a confidential informant who admitted to routinely buying drugs with the victim from a person whom he knew only as “Chino” in Harrisburg in the weeks leading up to the fatal overdose.
