Shippensburg, Pennsylvania — One person is behind bars and the other on the run after an alleged robbery of a handgun from a Shippensburg University fraternity party. Emilio Daman Frye-Reyes is facing charges of felony conspiracy to commit robbery and threaten imminent bodily harm. He remains behind bars on $30,000 bail in Cumberland County. Frye-Reyes’s alleged co-conspirator, Kyjarese Damani Hicks of Chambersburg is facing charges of felony robbery, felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor assault, and summary harassment. Anyone with information on Hicks’ whereabouts should contact PSP-Carlisle or 911.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to the area of Sunbeam Court in Shippensburg just before 2am on September 7th. Troopers say that they met with the two victims, both of whom they say had been attending a Shippensburg University Fraternity party earlier in the night. The first victim allegedly told police that he had driven his parent’s vehicle to the party and that he realized he still accidentally had his parent’s handgun in the car. Putting it into a black satchel and that bag into the trunk of the car. Believing it was locked, the victim walked away and told his friend watch the car while he stepped away from the party.
Troopers say that the victim returned to the party around 30 minutes later with the other victim wearing the bag that was supposed to be in the car, yelling for him to come over. That’s when the first victim allegedly told the other victim that Kyjarese Hicks, Emilio Frye-Reyes, and a third individual who has NOT been charged had threatened him and taken the handgun out of the bag before running away. This is when a 911 call was placed and Troopers later arrived.
The same morning, Troopers say they received emails from the victim showing that the Find My iPhone feature was showing that the missing phone, which PSP say may have been stolen as well as the handgun, was showing that the phone was at a home on E Orange Street in Shippensburg. That location is where the previously mentioned individual who was NOT charged lived.
Troopers interviewed the second victim a day later, with that interview reportedly showing that the victim was standing with two other men, one of them being Kyjarese Hicks, after the first victim stepped away from the party. A discrepancy between the first and second interviews shows that the victim believed he was given the satchel rather than it being put in the trunk.
Hicks reportedly made an inquiry into it before allegedly forcefully grabbing the bag from the victim, unzipping it, and pulling out the pistol that was in it. After that, Hicks and the second person, believed to be Emilio Frye-Reyes, took off towards the Shippensburg Spiritual Center.
Emilio Frye-Reyes remains behind bars as an accomplice to the alleged robbery. Kyjarese Hicks remains free at this time, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact relevant authorities.
