Camp Hill, Pennsylvania – Madina Ghazaly is a third grade student at Rossmoyne Elementary in the West Shore School District. And now, she is also a published author!

Madina recently wrote her first book, “My First Ramadan: A Children’s Story about Honesty,” in which she shares her excitement, challenges, and experiences with fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. My First Ramadan was illustrated by Fathima Salwa.

The book highlights the significance of Ramadan in the Muslim faith and portrays the family values and traditions associated with it.

The achievement of authoring a book at the age of eight years old was celebrated at her school, and a social media post featuring her story has been widely circulated. “Madina we loved reading your book and enjoyed learning more about your family values and traditions. Congratulations on being published! #WestShoreProud.”

The Pennsylvania Department of Education also congratulated the young author on X (formerly known as Twitter), by tweeting, “Way to go Madina! #PAProud.”
