Hershey, Pennsylvania – A large red crane at the construction site of a new chocolate factory tops the Hershey skyline.

Activity is abound on site with construction equipment and crews making noticeable progress on the structure of the new industrial building located on Reese Avenue near University Drive.

According to Hershey, when it becomes operational the new factory will be producing iconic candy brands such as Reese’s, Kit Kat, and Hershey’s. This comes as demand for these sweet products has increased substantially since 2019.

The new factory is being built on a 55-acre lot adjacent to the company’s Reese’s plant near Route 422, and it is expected to be completed and operational in 2024.

Hershey’s plan for the new factory includes building a manufacturing facility and accompanying warehouse with office space, coined “Project Milton.”

The project is part of Hershey’s multi-year investment strategy, which includes expanding existing facilities and developing new capabilities to drive production of Hershey’s core brands, according to a company press release.
