Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania – A propane tank allegedly caused a large explosion that was heard for miles around Lancaster County just before noon. Initial reports suggest someone may have been welding at the house.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 1235 Bossler Road for reports of an explosion at a home where a large fire is being contained. It is believed that someone may have been trapped in the basement at the time of the explosion.

The explosion was heard as far away as Mt. Joy as reported by Hilary Stoutzenberger.

The blast caught the attention of Elizabethtown resident Mary Price. She described it as a shock wave that she felt in her home, causing her to jump with surprise.

Video of the fire was filmed by Amy Grunder. “The house exploded when I was a short distance down the road heading in that direction,” she said.
